These used to be the hype back then and it’s always the coolest kids who will have these quirky stationery first, then everyone will follow suit. Did you have own any of these when you were younger? Because I sure did not have the first one #nochildhood.
1. Japanese Pencil Case
Okay, yes. I’ve always wanted these but I never ever got it. Maybe it’s time for me to buy one for myself now. These are the hugest thing last time and literally everyone has one of these (except me, yes I’m salty). You can get this here.
2. Multicolored Click Pen
The more colours you have, the more hip you are. Plus point: you can get them almost anywhere!
3. Country Erasers
The one with the most “powerful” erasers are the ones we always bet on. They are not as common as before but you still can get them on Qoo10.
4. Bendy Ruler
This was definitely the ultimate weapon any kid could have. Also, super useful when we draw ’em curves on graph papers. Available at all bookstores!
5. Scented Gel Pens
6. Glitter Gel Pens
The only time we are excited about taking down notes is when we have glitter pens. And then we decorate our notebooks like crazy.
7. Metallic Gel Pens
Glitter pens were cool until you had these gorgeous metallic ones that look so good written on black paper.
8. Rainbow Gel Pens
9. Push-Up Pencils
Lose onf of the inserts and you are screwed. Can’t emphasise how much I love these pencils because I’m lazy to sharpen the wooden ones. Get it a any bookstores!
10. Novelty Pencil Cases
Yes, we were easily amused back then, so much so that an enlarged pencil case version of our favourite drinks and candy makes us go gaga. We found some on Carousell!
11. Marker Stampers
And so our note books are filled with random stamps all over too. We haven’t seen this in a really long time but you could try Popular any children’s section!
12. Glitter Glue
This is definitely not to glue things together. Just squeeze it out into shapes or patterns you want on a paper and let them dry. Super cute stuff right here! Get them at any bookstores!
13. Invisible Pens
When teachers find out you are passing letters in class only to find a blank piece of paper…..hehehe. Unfortunately, we have no idea where you can get this in Singapore anymore but you can order it from Qoo10!
14. Plush Animal Pencil Pouches
This is half soft toy and half pencil case. We seek comfort in them while we are away slogging in school without the rest of our toy army. We barely see them here anymore, perhaps overseas but we found some on ebay.
15. Triangle Highlighter
I remember the very first triangle highlighter I’ve ever gotten was on Children’s Day where the school had their logo printed on it. We can’t find any shops that sell these individually but they sell it in bulk here.
16. Plus Correction Tape
This was out go-to correction tape. It really screws up sometimes but we still use it for some reason. Available at bookstores.
17. Fluffy Pens
The chic-est of all, fluffy pens are like a magic wand for us; we will use it to point to anything and anyone. You could probably get them at Smiggle!
All these bring back so many memories and oh, how we wish we could go back to primary school, sigh.
