If you haven’t tried mentaiko, are you even from this planet? Those who are familiar with mentaiko, do you really know what it is? Well, this is a Japanese delicacy where marinated pollock and cod roe are mixed together. Add it with butter and mayonnaise, it’s good enough to become a sauce for pasta. But what Singaporeans love the most is spicy mentaiko, isn’t it? Salty, savoury, spicy; what else do you need to capture a Singaporean’s heart? Here’s a list of yummy mentaiko dishes that can be found in Singapore.

Yes, it looks really hard on the outside and you’ll go, “Confirm damn hard one”. But nope, this is not a potential baseball bat. It’s just a really well-baked baguette that’s crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Mentaiko is not only spread on top but inside of it as well. You don’t have to worry that it will be too salty as it will be perfectly balanced out by the bread.
