Samsung just released a spanking brand new phone for 2016 during Mobile Wold Congress 2016. With competition for the mobile market getting stiffer each year, we take a look at F.I.V.E very noteworthy things about the phones. Take note readers, when a writer states about being technical, the article should have some specs. 😉
Samsung brings back water and dust proofing for their S7 after leaving it out in the cold for the S6. Even though the S5 was only IP67, it is still much appreciated by consumers and they obviously made it known to the company when the S6 didn’t had the feature. Now, Samsung claims that the S7 is waterproofed for up to 1.5 meters underwater and can live up for up to 30mins in water.
As with new phones, there always is a need to have better specs, and the S7 line doesn’t disappoint. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (Samsung will still use their own Exynos processors in versions outside of North America), 4GB ram, 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen (the same with the S6 because it’s excellent), top of the line Adreno 530 GPU and the usual NFC, Bluetooth 3.0 and wireless charging.
Beautiful Updated Design
Sure, a quick first glance and you might think that the S7 looks exactly the same as the S6, but if you look closer, you’ll find subtle design changes that will improve the phone’s usability. Top tech websites states that there’s less of a camera hump protruding at the back of the phone, flatter fingerprint scanner and changes to the body that will make it more comfortable to use and hold.
Brilliant Gaming Compatibility
Samsung has introduced a new Game Launcher to make gaming easier in the S7 and S7 Edge. This allows faster access to the settings button which allows you to turn off notification while you’re in a game. Also, Samsung promised that the phones offer “PC like gaming” standards. Sources revealed that in their short time fiddling around with the phones, it indeed does feel like it. Samsung also promises that the battery life won’t be affected much and that the phone won’t overheat. This is thanks to the internal liquid cooling system embedded in the phone! They also guaranteed that this will be the best phone they have ever made in regards to gaming graphics and and performance.
Bigger Means More Light
Although the S7 and S7 Edge will have a lower resolution camera, 12mp compared to S6’s 16mp shooter, it has a wider aperture, f/1.7. Samsung says that the lower aperture combined with larger pixels allows “up to 95%” more light than the S6 making the already excellent camera better! Fret not, the front facing camera also has a f/1.7 aperture for all you selfie lovers. Really excited to know how the camera will perform in really low light conditions!
Well there you have it. F.I.V.E. reasons why the S7 and S7 Edge will be the best phone of 2016. Keep a lookout for them sometime mid March 2016! Do you think that LG G5 can out the current King of Android phones or do you think that the S7 line will once again be the reason Samsung reign supreme? Let us know!
