With Ramadhan coming up in a few weeks, Muslims all over the world are required to observe a month of fasting. Which means no eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. Ramadhan is also the month where friends and families gather to break their fast together. Some prefer to break their fast at home while others will take advantage of the rare opportunity to have a meal as a whole family or group of friends outside. Having said that, here are some popular restaurants which you’d want to check out to break your fast together!
I Am Café
Probably the most popular café at Haji Lane area, and it has one of the more unique food plating amongst the other cafes listed. Their fish and chips and burger are the two most sought after food in the menu. They also serve a good range of desserts that you need to have to end your meal. One of our favourites at HypeQuiva, and little reason why it shouldn’t be yours too!
Probably my most favourite restaurant in Singapore, Badoque café constantly pushes out excellent quality food in huge portions. Their service and staff is top notch, very friendly and down to earth. Always a great place to eat, they’ll go out of their way to accommodate the customer’s palate whenever they can. Most famous for their ribs, it is tender and moist, and the bone falls off the meat very very easily. The meat, with the accompanying sauce, almost disintegrates in your mouth as soon as you put it in. This should be in any top 10 restaurant food lists in Singapore!
Royz Et Vous
Royz Et Vous serves western fusion cuisine with a touch of French inspiration. Their Signature Prawn and Crayfish pasta is one of the best pastas that I’ve ever tasted. For mains, try the Smoked Duck or Rack of Lamb, which comes with garlic mash, mint sauce, cherry tomatoes and grilled fine haricot. Being a halal establishment, they don’t serve alcohol but they do have halal wines, which go well with any of the mains. The ambience has an atas feel to it even though the price won’t hurt your wallet.
The café, which got famous because of their laboratory concept, also serves great food and drinks! The ever-popular Heisenburger, named after a popular Breaking Bad character, is the main highlight of the café. Their drinks are also popular with syringes often seen paired together with them. The lab also constantly comes up with new drink concoctions once every few months! So do check them out!
Wilder is the perfect café for music lovers. They often hold acoustic evenings, which basically hosts local talents in the café to sing live for the night. Their food is also something to rave about. The cooks often come up with new recipes for the café like squid ink pasta and roasted chicken with cauliflower mash. For great food and the perfect ambiance, check Wilder out!
Spize started out as a café turned coffee shop turned one-of-the-best-supper-places in Singapore in a huge turn of events. They sell everything from Indian food to western food and it is indeed one of the few places to get the Super Cooler. Always one of the drinks that I’ll get when I visit Spize, Super Cooler is wheatgrass syrup with coconut juice and flesh all together. It really cools you down in Singapore’s humid weather.
Tash Tish Tosh
Tash Tish Tosh started out from a coffee shop and now they have their own restaurant that they can be proud of. Their TTT Buffalo Wings are the most famous item in their menu and you can always be sure that you have enough space in your stomach for them. They also carry a wide range of pastas and pizzas in their menu and you can be sure that you won’t be disappointed!
12:00pm – 02:00pm
Kaw Kaw recently released a new menu, which means more choices for everyone! They’re known for their huge burgers, which are extremely addictive! Their Classic Lamb Burger is perfectly cooked everytime and that is the only burger I’ll order at Kaw Kaw. My friends tried their other burgers and indeed they really know how to make a good burger. Big juicy patty with classic toppings and soft buns, that is really all you need to make the perfect burger!
#01-01 Aliwal Art Centre
Located in the heart a café-saturated region in Arab street, (working title) has been a popular chill out spot for a number of years for café goers. Their gourmet burgers have been a hit amongst the youths. With burgers as big as your face, they intend to stuff their customers full and make sure that they’ll come back again and again to relive the moment. They have a wide assortment of burgers and snacks which is good enough on its own. Also, their dessert menu looks excellent! Do check out (working title) during the weekend as they have the brunch menu till 5pm!
