We at HypeQuiva think that desserts are one of the greatest inventions ever made. While some of the writers here try to eat healthy meals (keyword here is try), we just can’t do the same for desserts. So we have complied a list of lovely, sweet and savoury desserts that you must try!
Historic Parisan café that opened it’s first outlet in Singapore, offers an exquisite array of desserts that you can try. “Pain au chocolat” ($4.20) and “Financiers” ($6) will fit the bill. A financiers comes in vanilla, pistachio and chocolate flavours and ice creams (vanilla, chocolate, mixed berries, and pistachio) is $5 a scoop.
Pronounced like buffet and short for boutique café, this quaint place at the end of Pheonix Park offers the most delectable cakes and tarts. Their signature cake, Boufe Café ($8.50) is 64% chocolate mousse, passion fruit mango cremeux (French for creamy), rum syrup-infused chocolate genoise (sponge cake) base & crunchy hazelnut nougatine (French for nougart). Another favourite is the strawberry shortcake ($8.00), which has Kirsch syrup-infused genoise, chantilly cream, fresh strawberries & pistachio.

3. Carpenter & Cook
Craving for a sweet and salty dessert? Carpenter and Cook has got you covered with their unique tart: Banoffe. This sea salt caramel and toffee mix with ripened bananas and coffee infused whipped cream sounds like too much of a guilty over-indulgence, but so worth it — Literally, at $6.50.

5. Dean and Deluca
Dean and Deluca is one of the more popular café’s in Singapore to introduce the rainbow cake ($7.50). Unlike other rainbow cakes, which are pretty to look at but tastes meh, Dean and Deluca’s rainbow cake is still a must try. The cake tastes just as good as it looks with each layer is created with a different fruity flavour. Accompanied with light cream on top, this dessert is one of the café’s best sellers.
6. d’Good Café
d’Good Café signature cheesecake was baked by the owner himself. The best seller, Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake cost $9 per slice, is the first and only in Singapore.
Another recommended dessert is the classic Deutsch Skillet Pancake at $8. Good for both breakfast and dessert, it is serve with fresh lemon juice, maple syrup and cream cheese. Ice cream is available as an add-on as well.

7. FIKA Swedish Cafe & Bistro
Fika is a halal certified café serving traditional Swedish food and pastry. Located at Beach Road, Millenia Walk and OneKM mall, they have been in the business for a number of years. Already a favourite amongst café-goers for their meatballs and other mains such as Pannbiff and Herb-Crusted Salmon, they also have mouth-watering desserts like their Ligonberry Cheesecake. Currently, they have a coffee and cake set for $9.90++ and oh boy, do they look delectable! You can choose between their red Velvet Cake and Gevallia Coffee Cake. The cakes look too good to be eaten!

8. FIX Café
Located at Ah Hood road, don’t be surprised if you don’t see any fancy shopfront of FIX Café. It’s located in Home TeamNS Balastier and trust us the interior more than makes up for it. The rustic interior combined with their food makes them one of our favourite eating places in that area. They are also quite affordable when it comes to café food. Offering two desserts under $10, we’d give it two thumbs up. Their Donuts with Salted Egg Dip ($6) is a palate pleaser, while their Churros ($7) comes with a chocolate dip. Oh it’s a halal muslim establishment too.
Grub Café can be found all the way in Bishan Park. With a lovely ambience and perfect setting, it is easily one of the prettiest cafés in Singapore. With good food served beautifully on plates, they make sure your food is all Instagram-worthy. Other than the desserts on display, there is also the mainstay dessert like their churros with a dark chocolate, tangy crème anglaise. The desserts look appetizing and they taste way better than you think.

10. Hoshino Coffee
Imagine soft and fluffy bite-sized French toast topped off with sugar & ice cream… That’s probably how heaven taste like, for only $9.80.
Make sure to also try out their signature Pancake soufflé style. This top seller dessert is also going at $9.80.

11. Kki Sweets
Known for its exquisite, yet simple dessert, Kki Sweets served Japanese-inspired French mousse cake that is handcrafted. The Matcha with sesame cheesecake bar priced at $5.80 is a classic favourite, while the Dark chocolate with kirsch cherries (alcoholic) price at $5.80 is the newest flavour that will only be available from now till June. Try it before it’s gone!
There is a section dedicated to Kki Home, their very own line of household wares and products. Shopping and eating at the same time sounds like a good idea.

13. Milk & Honey – Artisan Yoghurt & Dessert Bar
What’s better than a cup of frozen yogurt drizzled in chocolate syrup?! Ladies, we hear you. What’s more, it’s only $6.80 to satisfy your cravings (especially during that time of the month). If you’re feeling guilty, there are healthier options for you too!
Other than these designed yoghurt signature parfaits, Milk & Honey allows you to create and design your own parfaits at 3 different sizes!

14. One Ice Café
Bingsu, a South Korean version of ice kacang has become a favourite amongst people here in Singapore. A shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings like ice cream, condensed milk, Azuki beans, chopped fruits and fruit syrup, sounds like a heavenly dessert that we should eat, especially in Singapore’s blazing hot weather. One Ice Café offers other variations such as Oreo Bingsu ($6.80), Matcha Bingsu ($6.80) & Peanut Bingsu ($7.80). Drop by any outlet when you’re craving a dessert to cool you off.

First arrived in Singapore in 2011, PAUL offers one of the best French bread and pastries here. PAUL’s selection of pastries is made with the high standards that French bread and pastries are known for. Try PAUL’s Tartlette Citron Meringuée (Lemon Meringue Tartlet; $6.80), Tartlette Chocolat (Chocolate cream tartlet; $6.50) and Millefeuille Fraises (Strawberry Millefeuille; $7.30).

16. Plain Vanilla Bakery
Plain Vanilla has one of the best cupcakes in Singapore and our personal favourite is the Salted Caramel. All the cupcakes go for $3.90 per piece. If you’re looking for something else, try their Raspberry Lime Bundt Cake at $7.50.

17. Pong Gelato
Think of coconut ice but with gelato instead. Pong gelato offers delicious gelato ice cream serve in coconut husk, it doesn’t get any more Thai than that. One of their best sellers is coconut and mango in husk ($5.50). It comes with a choice of three toppings and coconut juice. That is a pretty sweet deal.

18. Project Acai
Healthy, vegan and comprises of the superfood, Acai. What’s not the love? On top of the health benefits that come with it, the presentation of the smoothie bowls is gorgeous. Every ingredient is placed thoughtfully just so it could form like a blossoming flower. An Acai bowl of handy size goes at $6.80 and a medium size goes at $9.30. Ordered the smoothies at $8.50 for a quick and convenient boost me up treat.
Recently opened this year, redpan is a fruit of labour between two familiar brands in Singapore, DP Architects, whose works include Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Sports Hub and Vivocity, and Grub, a café located at Bishan Park. They aim to “redesign the culinary experience” in Singapore through this collaboration. They promise, “local fun dining”, serving their very own interpretation on local tastes and ingredients.
One look at their menu and you know that they are serious about their food. Serving dishes with names like Tuckshop Fried Chicken Wings and Temasek Chicken Chop, you know there will be local twists to all time favourites. Their desserts are also very inventive. Well priced under $10, their Sticky Red Date Cake ($8) comes with Caramel Date Sauce and vanilla ice cream, while their Coconut Panna Cotta with Pineapple Compote ($7) looks mouth-watering.

20. Sarah’s The Pancake Cafe

A mix of cheese and caramel-flavoured popcorn with ice cream is definitely a unique way to make a sweet treat. Indulge yourself in this delightful and uncommon dessert at only $6.80.

23. Tart Blanc
Tart Blanc creates artisanal dessert and pastries such as tarts, handmade cookies, macarons and gourmet sandwiches. These treats are great selections to go with their premium coffee and tea selection. Try Tart Blanc selection of tarts like Chicky Mango Tart, Blood Orange Matcha Tart or Tiramisu Tart (all for $7.50). A dessert never looked this pretty.

24. The Daily Scoop
The Daily Scoop has bunch of dessert options under $10 bucks, so you are spoiled for choice if you head there. There are ice cream scoops (from $2.50) made in-store daily, using quality natural ingredients that are locally-produced. A crowd favourite include Salted Mister Brown, Kookie Monster, Lychee Martini and the King of Fruits, Mao Shan Wang. You can also try a churros waffle set ($8.00) that comes with cinnamon, sugar, maple syrup, and a single scoop of ice cream.

25. Tom’s Palette
Tom Palette is known for their unique flavoured ice cream that comes with a local twist. With over 100 flavours rotating regular, each visit will have something new. A few staple flavours are Salted Egg Yolk, White Chocolate Nori, Yuzu and Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Order the waffle with a scoop of ice cream for $9.60 or $3.60 for a scoop of ice cream.

One of the creamiest ice cream served on top of savoury, crispy waffles, Udders is definitely one of the best dessert places to hang out and chill with your friends over a plate of waffles. On a budget? Then have a scoop or two of their ice cream with flavours including Kit Kat, Orange Choc Bitters, Baileys and Bourbon ($4 – $9.80).

27. (working title) – Burger Bar
This café has really extensive food items on the menu. While you will be spoiled for choice with the wide array of mains, save some space in your tummy for their desserts. One of their most interesting and not-to-miss dessert is the Rollies ($7.00) which is described as flour tortilla wrap around a filling. Can’t imagine it? It’s basically popiah with filled with sweet peanut butter and jam. But keep a look out as (working title) will be experimenting with new filings!
